Description

Motor Yacht Moonraker is a steel expedition yacht offering a fabulous houseboat platform for the “great Loop” and beyond. With her full beam Master Suite above the waterline on the second level. This feature is normally found on much larger yachts. She has expansive decks created by her 22.5 feet beam from Bow to Stern. She currently houses a tender and minisub. A tender of up to 18 feet can be carried on her main deck. Any toy can be lifted by not one but two cranes with capacity of 5,000 and 3,000 pounds respectively. The upper deck could easily be adapted for use of a small helicopter such as a Robinson R44/66, Schweizer 300CB, Calibri or Rotorway.

Her range can be expanded from the current 2000 miles to 5000 miles with ease by just activating her two reserve tanks making her a true global cruiser. She also has a smaller “toy fuel tank” that offers regular gasoline for toy refueling. Currently, she carries a mini submarine, scuba jets and assortment of kayaks, sups and a 13 ft tender. The mini sports submarine is available for an additional $45,000 separately. The sub can dive to depths of 150 feet with a range of two hours. The tender is included in the sale.

Inside, she has the capacity to sleep six depending on the selected configuration. As an owner operator she provides a full-beam master suite with ensuite bathroom. There is a large guest cabin that can be configured for up to four and a captain’s cabin/office. Currently it contains a queen bed and a double bed for the owner’s kids. The comfortable salon blends in nicely with the galley offering open plan living for the owner which resembles a house kitchen with an island table and 6 feet five ceilings. There are two fridges and a large freezer, a stove and water maker. A residential washer and dryer complete the appliance line up and both propane and electric appliances.

A highlight of Moonraker is her full beam master suite with an ensuite shower and toilet on the helm deck offering a spectacular location for morning coffee or an evening cocktail on the full beam veranda. The top deck currently is used as a sun lounge and offers commanding views of the surrounding area. Here you will also find a 3,000 lb crane perfect for lifting the jet skis,

Helm navigation is enhanced by the Raymarine and Garmin Radar, Depth sounder, bow and stern thrusters. The helm stations offer commanding 180-degree views for the captain while video cameras offer views to the stern to make parking easier. The reliable twin Detroit Diesels and new generator compliment Moonraker for any desired mission. The current owner has built a custom helm chair platform offering two captain chairs offering fantastic visibility.

Moonraker makes the perfect family floating home or pocket expedition yacht or toy tender for yachts in the 120-foot length range that don’t wish to have toys cluttering their decks. As a personal expedition yacht, her gentle 5.5-7 kts cruise and full displacement hull provides for a smooth ride in the most challenging waters and makes for easy parking with her bow and stern thrusters.
